Josh Gilliam, a junior infielder for the Mountaineers, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, April 7 after his performance against the Dallas Crusaders.
Gilliam led the Mountaineers to a pair of wins last week, going 5-for-14 at the plate (.357) while slugging 1.000. On the week, Gilliam tallied three home runs, 11 RBI and three runs scored. The Texas-native had his best performance in game two of the double-header against Dallas where he batted .600 (3-for-5), blasting two home runs while amassing eight RBI to become the first SCAC player to record eight or more RBI in a single-game since 2012.
