The 2026 Charles Austin Classic, hosted by Texas State University, proved to be a standout weekend for Schreiner University Track and Field, as the Mountaineers delivered multiple school records, personal bests, season bests, and top ten finishes against strong collegiate competition.

Leading the way was Sean Dansby, who placed 2nd overall in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:52.04, setting a new school record. In the same event, Dominic Pardon recorded a personal best of 2:01.00, continuing his strong progression this season. Pardon also added another personal best in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:25.18.

Sprint performances were highlighted by Xavier Tellez , who placed 6th overall in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.80 and also competed in the 100 meters, finishing 12th overall in 10.90. Tellez was also a key contributor on the men's 4x100 relay team alongside Brandon Prince , Justin Britton , and Justin Gooden  The quartet ran 41.39 to finish 4th overall while setting a new school record.

In the hurdles, Neal Ramos delivered a breakthrough performance, placing 9th overall in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.39, earning both a personal best and a new school record.

The men's 4x400 relay team of Kameryn Aguero, Dansby, Ramos, and Gooden secured a 3rd-place overall finish with a season-best time of 3:25.06, capping off a strong showing in the relay events.

On the distance side, McKenna Emerson recorded a season-best performance in the women's 5000 meters, finishing in 20:50.

In the field events, Blake Munn achieved a personal best in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 28.18 meters, while Tyler Davis earned a 6th-place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 14.36 meters. Jayden Clawson added another top-ten performance in the men's triple jump, placing 7th overall with a mark of 13.01 meters.

Overall, the Mountaineers showcased impressive depth and momentum throughout the weekend, highlighted by multiple school records, personal and season-best performances, and several top-ten finishes. The Charles Austin Classic served as a strong indicator of Schreiner's continued growth as the team builds toward the heart of the outdoor season.
