Kerrville, TX- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the Schreiner University Volleyball team as a recipient of the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award. Schreiner was one of 1,432 college and high school volleyball teams to be given this award. To receive the AVCA Team Academic Award, a team must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
"Receiving this award shows everyone how hard our student-athletes work away from the court. Through all the travel and outside noise, our players make studying and academics a priority and I'm so happy they can get recognized." Head Coach, Jeremiah Tiffin said. "This is also a reflection on our student academic success center and all the professors that work with us every day. Schreiner is a wonderful place to learn and grow as a person and this award shows that."
Schreiner is coming into the 2026 season after a historic 2025 season having one of their best seasons ever by reaching the SCAC tournament championship match. They look to make more history in their first season in the ASC when they kick off the season August 26 with a home scrimmage against Our Lady of the Lake at 6pm in the Schreiner Event Center.
